Terms of Service

Application and acceptance

These terms govern use of the Aptenyo app and website, operated by Shihchun Tai, for users in every region where the service is offered (currently Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macao, Singapore, Malaysia, Japan, and Korea). These terms may be read at any time before creating an account, signing in, or making a purchase. By continuing to use the service, you confirm that you have read and accept these terms and the Privacy Policy.

The specific Taiwan regulations cited in these terms (such as Taiwan’s Regulations Governing Reasonable Exceptions to the Right of Rescission in Distance Sales) describe the operator’s obligations under Taiwan law. If mandatory consumer-protection law where a user is located (for example, Hong Kong, Macao, Singapore, Malaysia, Japan, or Korea) grants more favorable rights that cannot be waived in advance, those rights prevail and are not restricted or excluded by these terms.

These terms are a translation of the Traditional Chinese version. If the English and Traditional Chinese versions differ or conflict, the Traditional Chinese version prevails.

Service

Aptenyo provides TOEIC preparation, vocabulary and phrase learning, question-type practice, learning records, study strategy, and related functions. Available functions are those shown in the current app and website.

Aptenyo is a study aid. Guidance and score-related information are for learning reference only, are not official test results, and do not guarantee a particular score or outcome.

Accounts

An account may be created or accessed through the sign-in methods currently offered. Account credentials must be protected, unauthorized use should be reported promptly, and the account may be deleted in the app at any time.

Free and paid service

New learners receive 7 days of full access. After that period, a daily number of vocabulary items and practice questions is available for free as shown in the app.

Subscriptions renew automatically. A first subscription includes a 7-day free trial. After the trial, the selected plan price is charged unless renewal is canceled at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Cancellation stops future charges; paid access continues until the end of the current period. Remaining trial time may be lost when a plan is changed. Restore Purchases can restore subscribed access on another device.

App Store or Google Play rules govern payment, cancellation, and refunds. Entitlements stop when a subscription expires, is refunded, or is revoked.

Paid plans are digital content supplied immediately at the beginning of each period. For users in Taiwan, where Taiwan’s reasonable-exceptions rules apply, advance consent to immediate supply means the seven-day cancellation right does not apply. Purchases made through the App Store or Google Play are handled under that store’s refund policy, and refund requests go to Apple or Google. This does not limit platform refunds or mandatory legal rights.

Apple device users

An Aptenyo app obtained through the App Store is also subject to Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement. These terms supplement it.

These terms are between the learner and Aptenyo, not Apple. Aptenyo is responsible for maintenance, support, and claims concerning the app. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of provisions related to use of the app.

Personalized features

Aptenyo may use responses, learning records, a score goal, and an expected exam date to sequence vocabulary, schedule reviews, and suggest practice. These results are learning aids.

Content and intellectual property

Unless stated otherwise, rights in the Aptenyo brand, logo, interface, software, original questions, explanations, images, audio, and other learning content belong to Aptenyo or lawful rights holders.

A personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right is granted to use the service for personal exam preparation. It does not include sublicensing, rental, or commercial use.

Suspected infringement may be reported to Aptenyo for review.

Restrictions

Do not use automated tools to extract or copy content at scale; crack or reverse engineer the app; bypass safeguards; interfere with the service; impersonate another account; or reproduce, sell, or distribute Aptenyo content without authorization.

TOEIC® trademark

TOEIC® is a registered trademark of Educational Testing Service (ETS). Aptenyo is independently developed, is not affiliated with or officially licensed by ETS, and is not endorsed or approved by ETS.

Third-party services

Sign-in, payment, and app distribution may use Apple, Google, LINE, or other platforms with their own terms and privacy policies. Those terms also apply when those services are used.

Disclaimers and limits of liability

Aptenyo uses reasonable care but does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service or a learning outcome. To the extent permitted by law, Aptenyo is not liable for indirect or consequential loss caused by use or inability to use the service.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded or limits mandatory consumer rights.

Changes, suspension, and termination

Features may be changed, suspended, or ended for product improvement, security, technical, or legal reasons. Use of an account may be restricted or stopped for a material breach or threat to system security. An account may be deleted at any time.

Changes to terms and governing law

Material changes will update the date on this page or be announced reasonably. Continued use after a change indicates acceptance. Taiwan law governs the service, without limiting mandatory consumer rights.
